In memory of M Ganambarr

Earlier this month, a former translator in North East Arnhem Land passed away. M Ganambarr, aged 70, had been suffering from ill health for some time, and went to be with her Lord on Monday 7th January. Ms Ganambarr was a great contributor to the Gumatj translation project in the 1970’s, based in Yirrkala. She leaves a great legacy of Yolŋu language, Christian life, and love for God’s people.
The funeral and memorial ceremonies will run from Monday 29th January to Sunday 3rd February, in Yirrkala.
