New Events this week

In memory of M Ganambarr by Hannah Harper Earlier this month, a former translator in North East Arnhem Land passed away. M Ganambarr, aged 70, had been suffering from ill health for some time, and went to be with her Lord on Monday 7th January. Ms Ganambarr was a great contributor to the Gumatj translation project in the 1970’s, based in Yirrkala. She leaves a great legacy of Yolŋu language, Christian life, and love for God’s people. The funeral and memorial ceremonies will run from Monday 29th January to Sunday 3rd February, in Yirrkala.

COORDN8 Issue #7 March 2012

After the annual ‘OurWord’ refresher in Darwin, Berribob and Elizabeth flew to their Manmoyi homeland in the stone country South East of Jabiru, with the Gospel of Mark firmly in their sights. The focus of their translation is Manmoyi Kunwinjku. Already lively telephone conversations are planning a mid-year meeting at Jabiru, when the rivers go down, to download the work in progress.
